Big Brother, I am glad to have read the Hermit Crab story. We now have 2 hermit crabs of our own. By the way, how bad does it hurt when they pinch you?

[q]We actually started with their Louisiana Shrimp and Crabmeat pie which looks more like an empanada. Next we had some fried boudin, or blood sausage. For soup, I selected the Chef Donald’s Black-eyed Pea and Pork Gumbo which is one of the best gumbos I have ever had. For dinner I split the Louisiana Cochon with turnips, cabbage, and cracklins and the smoked beef brisket with horseradish potato salad with Larry.[/q]
you're lucky you split the dinner with dad otherwise your pants would be doing the splitting hahaha!!!
Hope to see some pictures soon in person.
Love you!

Comment on Hoisting the Mexican flag at a US post office by Arnie

Exactly my thoughts. I would think that raising another country's flag over US territory as an act of hostility and defiance could/should be considered an act of war. The protesters are apparently arguing about the outcome of the Mexican American War where the US won the rights to California. However, I believe that historians agree that the land that eventually became California was originally settled by Native Americans that came over from Asia and were then run out by the Spanish. So who should actually be able to lay claim to it? I would think that if they want to mount up an army and try to take it back, more power to them...it certainly would make good TV.

You are absolutely correct! This should be considered an act of war. I have a wonderful American son-in-law and grand daughter of Mexican decent, and I am not worried about political correctness because most Mexicans I know are embarrassed by this behavior. Any legal or illegal immigrants that want to trample on the dignity of our flag can feel free to go south of our border and contribute to building a country they could justify being proud of. If their Mexican flag is so great to them then please, to go live under it in Mexico.

Thanks for visiting me. Great story!

My mouth dropped open when I read about the orange circus peanuts. I remember my grandma always had them too. They were for my Uncle's lunch when he went to work. I was addicted to them. One time I came close to eating the whole bag. She went into the fridge to pack my Uncle's lunch and said "Damn! Who ate all of these?" It was the ONLY time I ever heard that woman swear. And to think, it was all because of me! I'm not sure if I ever fessed up, but it has stuck with me all my life.
